I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
